GAINESVILLE - Jason Deal took over Wednesday morning as district attorney for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit. Deal replaces Lydia Sartain, whose resignation was effective Tuesday.
Sartain will be entering private law practice in Gainesville; Deal is a former assistant district attorney in the office.
